One Response to All-candidates video — Nov. 3, 2014, Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce

  1. Jill McIntosh says:

I had the privilege, late last summer (2013), of organizing a neighbourhood meet-and-greet walkabout event, with the goal of facilitating a discussion with Council on the effect of the draft OCP on our area. Over twenty residents in my neighbourhood were actively involved in setting up the event, and four houses were on the tour. We invited all seven members of City Council–the mayor and the six councillors. Five people responded–four to say they would be in attendance (which they were), and one to say that they had a prior family obligation that precluded attending. Of the two that didn’t respond, one simply showed up, which was great.

The only person who neither responded nor attended was Mike Clay.

To my mind, in a small town, or even in a City that merely aspires to keep its small town feel, the Mayor at least acknowledges emails from citizens. Perhaps Mr Clay has had a few too many years being addressed as “Your Worship” to deign to respond to us common folk.
