Agenda overload — and consultation fragmentation

Too many related moving parts …

Current issues and projects include:

Council Strategic Plan, 2015-2018

Review of Land Use Policies in Moody Centre

  • Current proposed scope — Moody Centre Transit-Oriented Development Area
  • The Evergreen Line sub-area OCP map shows almost all of Moody Centre as a transit-oriented corridor
  • Scope should be expanded
  • Budget approved is the same as budget for Coronation Park neighbourhood plan
  • Estimated timeline is six months; 6-8 months for Coronation Park (??)
  • Should have been undertaken prior to OCP discussions, but since it wasn’t, should be fast-tracked and include all of Moody Centre
  • See Strategic Plan, above — where are the words “comprehensive and sustainable neighbourhood plan for Moody Centre”?

Blueprint — Zoning Bylaw update

  • Moody Centre is the neighbourhood affected the most; affects all areas

TransPort Moody — Master Transportation Plan update

  • Moody Centre is the neighbourhood affected the most; affects all areas

Budget consultation

  • Affects all of Port Moody

On top of the above, there is ramped up activity in Moody Centre — e.g., development applications requiring land use meetings, public hearings, special study areas, etc.

Prioritizing the first point above, a comprehensive and sustainable neighbourhood plan for Moody Centre, would be a good start.
