On Tuesday, March 7, 2017, the Community Planning Advisory Committee (CPAC), formerly known as the Land Use Committee (LUC), will review the concept presented for the Andres-Peller (Westport) site in west Port Moody.

The meeting is at council chambers (Inlet Theatre) at City Hall, starting at 7:00 pm. Members of the public can attend and comment and/or sent comments to clerks@portmoody.ca (by 12 noon on March 7).

The Andres-Peller group hosted an open house on Feb. 27 at City Hall.

Port Moody planning staff recommendations (from CPAC agenda material) are as follows:

“THAT the application to amend the Official Community Plan (OCP) and to rezone the Westport Village site to allow a high density mixed-use residential and commercial area not be supported at this time;

AND THAT the Westport Village OCP amendment and rezoning application be brought back to the Community Planning Advisory Committee for consideration once further detailed studies related to geotechnical, traffic, parking, environmental, and acoustical impacts, hazard risk assessment, commercial market analysis, and site servicing feasibility have been provided and evaluated.”

(In contrast, council is supportive of the larger Flavelle mill site proposal moving forward at this time. See earlier posts below for more information on the Flavelle site.)

Much more information is available from earlier posts on this site, including external links to material.
